Signposting Tidva to the families you work with
This page is for mediators, family and parenting charities, child contact centres, solicitors and other professionals who support separated parents. It explains what Tidva does, where it may help, and where it is not appropriate, so you can decide whether to signpost it.
What Tidva is
Tidva is a shared parenting organiser for Android, iPhone and iPad. It gives two parents, and up to four trusted guardians they invite, a shared calendar, messaging, holiday requests with approval, child updates and notes, expense and purchase logging, shared documents, and shared contacts. It is free to download; the family owner makes a one-time Family Setup Unlock purchase so a co-parent and guardians can join.
It is designed to keep communication practical and calm. It is not supervised contact, mediation, counselling, legal advice, or a safeguarding or emergency service, and it cannot check what users tell it.
Where Tidva may help
- Parents who already communicate safely and want one shared place for handovers, school details, appointments and expenses.
- Families with a parenting plan who want a neutral, written record of day-to-day arrangements.
- Parents who find scattered texts, emails and spreadsheets hard to manage.
- Families where grandparents or other trusted carers need limited, permissioned access.
Where Tidva is not suitable
Please do not signpost Tidva, or please assess carefully first, where:
- there is domestic abuse, coercive control or a risk of harm and direct contact between the parents is unsafe;
- a court order, bail condition or protective order limits contact or sets how parents may communicate;
- contact is supervised, supported or indirect, or a professional has advised that communication should go through a specific route;
- there are unresolved safeguarding concerns about a child.
Tidva puts two people in ongoing contact and shares information between them. It does not screen families for safety, and it is for professionals to judge whether it is appropriate for a particular family. Our safety and safeguarding page sets out the same guidance for families.
How you can signpost Tidva
- Share the link tidva.com, where families can choose Android or iPhone/iPad access.
- Point families to the safety page and the features and roles overview before they decide.
- Make clear that it supports, and does not replace, your service, a court order or professional advice.
Ready-to-use wording you can copy is just below.
Privacy and professional access
- There are no professional or organisation accounts. Tidva does not share family information with professionals or organisations.
- Only approved members of a family can see its information. Guardians see only what parents allow.
- Tidva is not designed or certified as a case-management or evidence system.
- Our Privacy Policy sets out what is stored, retention periods and deletion rights, and our Terms explain how misuse is reported and handled.
Ready-to-use wording
Copy and paste any of these into an email, newsletter, website or handout. Please keep the safety wording and the note that Tidva is independent.
